themes first explored in Lest Darkness Fall. His collaboration with Fletcher Pratt produced the popular and humorous Incomplete Enchanter series, in which the intrepid protagonist Harold Shea is transported into a number of alternate worlds based on various myths and legends.
DeCamp also worked alongside Isaac Asimov and Robert A. Heinlein ­ but as members of the U.S. Naval Reserve at the Philadelphia shipyards during World War II. After the war, DeCamp began his wry and exotic Viagens Interplanetarias romance tales, in which the future world is dominated by Brazil and the narratives are set on three planets named after Hindu gods.
From the 1950ΓÇÖs on, DeCampΓÇÖs later writings are devoted primarily to fantasy and sword and sorcery tales.
